Byju’s named as the official sponsor of FIFA World Cup 2022

India’s largest edtech company, Byju’s, has been announced as the official sponsor of FIFA World Cup 2022 which is set to be held in Qatar.

this makes Byu’s the first Indian company to be associated with FIFA and will allow the edtech company to access the FIFA emblem, its mark and use it for running various ads that will be displayed to passionate fans all over the globe. The company is also planning to create educational content for young fans.

“FIFA is dedicated to harnessing the power of football towards the goal of enacting positive societal change. We’re delighted to be partnered with a company like BYJU’S, which is also engaging communities and empowering young people wherever they may be in the world,” FIFA Chief Commercial Officer Kay Madati said.

Football is a sport which has a larger global footprint as opposed to cricket. Byju’s was already the shirt sponsor of the Indian cricket team, but this move takes the company to a whole other level which could be beneficial to the company’s vision of being global.

Today, Byju’s is one of India’s most valuable startups and the largest edtech platform. The company had recently raised $800 million and acquired several new companies like Hello English and GeoGebra.
