Coinbase, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, has announced its first startup acquisition in India.
The company has acquired Agara, an AI-powered support platform with operations in India and the United States, for a private amount. The acquisition must be completed this year.

Coinbase said the deal would bring Agara’s extensive expertise in machine learning and natural language processing to its engineering team.

β€œWe will leverage Agara’s powerful deep learning and conversational AI technology to automate and improve our customer experience (CX) tools. Improving CX is Coinbase’s top priority. In the past few months, we have announced that we have quintupled our support staff and will provide 24/7 phone support and live messaging by the end of the year.
This acquisition gives our customers new, personalized and intelligent real-time support options, “coinbase’s EVP engineering Manish Gupta said in a blog post.
