Facebook rename its name to Meta in major rebrand

Facebook has changed its name to Meta as part of a comprehensive brand change.
The company said it would be better to “accept” its activities to extend its reach beyond social media to areas such as virtual reality (VR).

The change does not apply to individual platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp, but only to the parent company to which they belong.

This move follows Facebook’s series of negative stories based on documents leaked by employees.
Frances Haugen has accused the company of “profit over security.”

Google reorganized the company in 2015 and changed the name of the parent company to Alphabet, but the name did not spread
