Google launches its ‘Play Pass’ subscription in India

On Monday, Google finally launched its Play Pass subscription in India. The service which is currently available in 90+ countries will give users ad-free access to several popular titles from several countries. This service will give its customers access to over 1000 applications and games without ads, in-app purchases and upfront payments. The service was first launched in the USA in 2019.

“With the potential to access users across 90 countries, Play Pass will offer Indian developers of all types of apps and games a new avenue to expand their global user base and unlock new revenue streams,” it said, adding that Google will continue to work with global and local developers to add new games and apps every month so that there is always something new to discover on Play Pass.

Indians can start on with the service with a monthly payment of Rs 99 or an annual payment of Rs 889. They can also avail a prepaid one month service at Rs 109. The company said that this service will let customers access several popular games and apps like Unit Converter, AudioLab, Jungle Adventures, Monument Valley, etc.
