After people like Sundar Pichai, Satya Nadella, Parag Agarwal and Amrapali Gan, another Indian name has been added in the list of Indians leading global companies. Ex-Indian Mr. Raj Subramaniam has been selected to succeed Mr. Frederick W Smith as the CEO of the delivery giant, FedEx.
“As we look toward what’s next, I have a great sense of satisfaction that a leader of the caliber of Raj Subramaniam will take FedEx into a very successful future,” Mr. Smith said in a statement.
Mr. Subramaniam joined FedEx in 1991. Originally from Trivandrum, he went to IIT Bombay in 1987 to study chemical engineering. He later got a master’s in the same field from Syracuse University in 1989. He also holds an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the University of Texas, Austin.
He has over 30 years of experience working for FedEx and has held several managerial positions over the years before being appointed to the Board of Directors in 2020.
Subramaniam said he will keep the company’s current strategy intact when he takes over from Smith. “It is my honor and privilege to step into this role and build upon what he has created,” the soon-to-be CEO said in a statement.
