Zydus Cadila agreed to reduce the price of his COVID-19 vaccine to 265 rupees per dose after ongoing government negotiations, but a final deal is pending, sources said on Sunday.
To provide a needleless vaccine for ZyCovD, you need a painless, disposable nozzle applicator at a cost of Rs 93 per dose. This will increase the price per dose to 358 rupees.
Ahmedabad-based pharmaceutical company had previously offered a price of Rs 1,900 for its triple-dose regime, sources said.
“The company has reduced the price of each dose to 358 rupees per week, including the cost of disposable nozzle applicators, as a result of repeated negotiations with the government,” sources told PTI.
Three doses are given at 28-day intervals, each dose including a shot with both arms.
